If you’ve ever been moved by the cinematic scale of Hans Zimmer, the theatrical intensity of Andrew Lloyd Webber, or the emotional rawness of Nick Cave, then Keshet is about to become your new obsession. « The Hollow Cause » is an orchestral piece that operates on that same level of ambition, built around the stunning voice of Jemma Rix, who brings every lyric to life with a vulnerability that feels almost uncomfortably real. Behind her, an entire world : Idan Freedman, Marc Pereira, Andrew Suhatam Darbukas, Ridvan Lumanovski, Zak Darbuka, the Budapest Orchestra, and the Soul Sanctuary Choir all contribute to a sound that is equal parts symphony hall and emotional confessional. Writing, composition, arrangements, orchestration, production, mixing, and video direction : all of it handled by Keshet alone, with the kind of control that only someone who has spent years mastering every aspect of his craft can pull off.
The man behind the music is just getting started
Keshet is an Australian composer who has spent over a decade building something most artists only dream about : a body of work entirely on his own terms. His career has taken him across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Australia, working simultaneously as a composer, orchestrator, producer, sound engineer, video director, session musician, and teacher. He is also the sole creator of The Diments, a full rock opera he conceived, wrote, and staged entirely by himself, earning recognition for its theatrical ambition and strong visual identity.
« The Hollow Cause » itself began as a single lyric that stayed with him for over a year before the rest of the song followed, and it serves as the title track of a full-length musical he produced in 2024, exploring loss, resilience, and the search for identity after adversity. He spent years deliberately postponing the recording, waiting until he found the exact voice the song required, and that voice turned out to be Jemma Rix, whom he finally saw perform live in Perth. After more than a decade of sporadic releases, 2026 marks a turning point : a full catalogue is ready, with new music dropping every two months. This is only the beginning.
